Just shy of ny state record bowfin

A few weeks ago a few of my friends were up on the St Lawrence and my nephews buddy caught this 11 pound bowfin. I saw the fish just sitting by the docks before we went out for small mouth. And when we came back in I told his friend try a little perch in front of him and bam what a fight and cool looking fish figured I would share it..

I never ate it. But my buddy who caught it he said it was strong and a little muddy tasting. He is having a replica done it should look cool.

Thats a slob bowfin. They fight real good too congrats to the angler...and the one who gave the tip
