I also wear a black hoodie that fits over my layers and have a ground blind bow holder that allows me to keep my bow knocked and ready right in front of me.

Law says you need to put some hunter orange on blinds now.  I hunt private land and do it anyway.  I bought a cheap plastic hunter orange vest and tied it to the top.  Helps me find the blind in the dark.

With a bow now too?

Always used orange during gun season but not bow season

page 25 of digest says orange only required for bow hunters using a ground blind IF a firearm deer season is also open at the time.

Yes, make sure you practice from the sitting position. I haven't hunted out of a ground blind in years but when I did I went to shoot a buck and my cam hit my knee when I went to go shoot. Arrow stuck in the ground 5 yards in front of me. Pretty embarrassing but thought I'd share so that you don't make the same mistake

Do not shoot through the mesh! I know some people say you can but I tried it on a perfect broadside shot at 20 yds and I never found the deer. It felt like a perfect shot but I know that mesh affected the arrows flight,
