snapping turtle

i have seen a large snapper in my pond and he is up to no good. i think he has eaten all the fish eggs this spring. he also killed a large water snake a few weeks ago. how should i go about trapping him ?

treble hook, a dead sunny or piece of cut fish (any fish), strong line tied to a stake.... attach to a jug and toss it in overnight.

One time I hooked a huge snapping turtle while fishing a small pond with just a nightcrawler on a hook!

i like the jug method and i will get the gear together. i looked on tractor.net and some good old mid western boys talk about noodeling with leather welding gloves on. another posted using a log and the snapper will lay on it to sun himself. i would sub a 2 x 8 x 12' extended into the pond, and it must be a head shot. they also said only the female will leave the water to lay eggs.
