New Trail Cam

It was time to get a new trail cam, I don't need the best or worst. I did some research on numerous web pages and decided I wanted infrared one. The MOULTRIE 888i (2016) got very good reviews and it had what I wanted. It seems it sells for about $160, I found it on ebay for $90.00 new, so I placed the order and then ordered a camlock box for it. I will set it up next week over my bear bait

Pretty sure most units these days are infrared over flash, but you definitely don't want flash.  Especially with bears who grow interested and chew on your cameras when they see a flash go off sometimes.  I'm of the opinion that most of the expensive cameras are way too much for what we use them for which is inventory, not magazine quality pictures.  I won't spend more than $100 on one as they eventually wear out, get eaten by a bear, or are stolen.  And all the ones in that range are fine.  Cabela's Bargain Cave often has great deals on cams.

I just bought the M-888 a few days ago..$140.. Cabelas.. The only difference I can see between the 888 and the 888i is the 888 has visible IR vs the 888i which has invisible IR.. IMO it wasn't worth $20 more for something I don't think the animals care squat about..  with that said.. I think I would have gone for the 888i if I found it for $90 though... :cupcoffee:

correct really only difference, but having both in the past, seems at times some game sees that red light
