Anyone see the NRA-ILA announcement about Chris Christie's recent conditional veto and how he amended the bills to introduce Shall Issue legislation? I suggest you look it up and send a letter to your reps if you agree. I'll try to dig up a link...

I saw that in a few emails this week.  I didn't know what to make of it.  He's sent the legislation back in such a way that the legislators are damned if they sign it and damned if they don't. I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop and see what Sweeny and his cluster of morons say about it in response.

Sapere aude.

Audeamus.

When you cannot measure, your knowledge is meager and unsatisfactory.

Read this: https://anjrpc.site-ym.com/page/ChristieVetoesShall - see the links to the veto language in there too.

Easy way to contact every NJ legislature - click this link and just copy-n-paste all the names in one big swoop and paste in the "To" field of your email client and send an email.

This probably is going nowhere, but we've never been this close to having conceal carry - if you won't fight for it now, the politicians know we never will.

I sent an email and told them (because you know these politicians have no idea what it takes to purchase a gun - they probably believe the anti-gun talking points about "how easy" it is to buy a gun) that in NJ, to legally buy just a shotgun we have to get a FID card and to get THAT we have to go through a police investigation including interviewing friends and neighbors as references, in addition to the federal NICS checks. So we already have a high bar to meet (much higher than most of the country). For people that already go through such strict checks, we should be considered law-abiding, responsible citizens - why ask us to further jump through hoops in the courts asking a judge for further permission to exercise our 2A rights?

I asked them to support and vote for the conditions of the veto.

Yeah, it reeks of political ambitions at the federal level, but he has been consistent on 2A and should be supported for that. I doubt this is going anywhere, but I will support it. I plan on calling my reps offices tomorrow and I already sent emails. Depending on the election in November, we might have a 2A president (or a ban everything one) and 2 or 3 supreme court appointments in the next 4 to 8 years. This election is pivital.

There's several lawsuits in the mix as well by a small group of guys who were denied their CCW, one of them just got approved for his but the law suit is still active. So there IS some pressure on the state legislature to look at this issue in a different light and the NRA has nothing to do with it, in fact, they were offered a good part and a good seat in the self funded suit and decided to sit it out, even saying something along the lines of not being good for business to piss off the politicians. BUT, the case is gaining traction and those guys have a real 2A lawyer (Where others ran away with their tails tucked) and Trenton is actually forced to listen as they told the state from the start that their intent is to go to SCOTUS where the lower courts would be embarrassed by a spanking if their ruling is overturned or reversed or what ever it is that they do.

But again, it's worth repeating, the morons on the left are still fighting against our best interest regardless of how many phone calls or emails we send, they simply DO NOT CARE because they know that even gun owners, and hunters will vote stupid if a fat man in a luxury Suv Stands up at a meeting and tells them to vote democrat because "It'll save our jobs" even though all it does is make the fat guy innthe $75,00.000 SUV even fatter and richer.  And others don't want mamma's EBT card taken away so will vote for 'the D' no matter what.
