That's a wrap

Recommended Posts

I'm done. Needed a good day to limit out in 3D and the first spot made my mind up for me. Had two there and figured even if I came up a couple short for the rest of the day I was satisfied. I hit my goal on beavs a long time back, thanks to the Vermont run. I had tweeked things yesterday pulling off a river spot where they just looked rough due to the nature of the spot. I moved that gear to a spot i'm sure was hit already but still looked active. Earlier sets with castor were totally ignored there so I figured the pressure had really screwed it up or wiped em out, but it didn't look right.

It payed off. Blind set foot holds and a couple 330s convinced me that whoever tried here earlier really put a funk on them. A fantastic way to end my season. 3 giants in a pressured colony. Started in the kayak in Vermont in November and finished the season the same way.

Yesterday... A missing foothold and a tight drowner... The mark of spring open water beavs

And found a few more otter spots that are a home run. No issues finding places over there. This year the catalog of spots got bigger and better

Nice !

Dont care what Tine says...You are a beavers worst nightmare..

Look at you stirring the pot!

Chris would have been done long before I was.  He is more than welcome to the title of beaver master.

I just work on one thing at a time...this year it was beaver.  Wanted to do more under the ice but this wasnt the winter for it.  Not like the last couple years anyway.  Im a canine guy at heart.  But well rounded is the key.  Next year, who knows.  maybe mink..maybe another exotic up north.  Time will tell.

your making it very hard for me to put off going to pa and learning how to set steel, between you and watching trapping time I cant take it. I hear a meow calling my name

Theyre everywhere up there.  More than fox and easier to catch than you can imagine.  THeyre a given if you learn the critter.

under ice beaver is one of my fav. way to trap, just something about chopping a hole and cupping your hands to look in and see a big ball of fur, the bad part is I am on rivers and I don't trust the ice often
