Does anyone shoot these bullets?

I use the SST's in my muzzle loader.  Great accuracy at 100ya and nice precision too.

I use the xtp on top of 100 grains by volume  of blackhorn 209 and they are extremely accurate and perform great  out of my encore.

My sons and I use the XTP 300 grain mag pistol bullets. They are accurate but, I have noticed from the last few years, they leave virtually no blood trail. We've shot approximately 20 deer with these bullets and what we've found is that, the first 50 to 60 yards, there is no blood trail. So, keep that in mind if you start shooting them. We plan on trying a different bullet for this year.

So it the plastic tip to improve flite oron game performance? In the places I hunt 50 yards is pretty much max. I want a bullet that will hit them hard and leave good blood

They're hollow filled with plastic if your only shooting 50 yds go with the xtp they hit hard and fly good.they been around awhile they're not new at all I used to use them they do a good job on deer

These low drag rounds are the only Sabot rounds that I could get down my barrel with relative ease. They shoot great even after a couple rounds have been shot through the gun. I haven't lost any deer I shot with them.

Also, if you do decide to use them, buy them in bulk. I get mine through Midway for $18.00 for a box of 50. I get my sabots through MMP Sabots out of Arkansas.

I got them in a trade along with a couple others. I heard the plastic tip helped them expand. Just wondering if it's true and what to expect out if them

I shoot the XTP's but I don't purchase those over priced packages. I buy a 100 count box of the same XTP bullets that would be used for pistol reloading. I use "Harvester crush rib sabots purchased separately.  It is about 1/2 the price per shot and the crush rib sabots engage the rifling better plus they load easier.

 

I get the same or better accuracy as the overpriced 20 packs.

The above Hornady SST is the bullet I use in my .50 Cal Accura Mountain Rifle.

 

Easy to load, great accuracy, dropped my son's buck nearly in his tracks last month.

 

Recommend it highly!

I believe the SSt is the bullit made for lever guns with tube magazines. I have heard talk that on soft targets they are not expanding like they should.

if you got them for free and are dialed in with them, use them. 2 of my friends shoot the SSTs and are happy with them. No experience with the XTPs so others can comment.

 

I personally shoot 300 grain parker ballistic extremes. Very accurate and great terminal performance. Gives you the best of both worlds. Little pricier than some other bullets but they are quality.
