rgw
I woke up yesterday puking my guts out, dizzy and could barely stand up, all I could think of what am I going to do about checking my traps,, I pulled out my book that has all my set locations marked and thought about calling another trapper for help, after laying on the floor for a couple hours hugging the porsline gods I decided I had to go do it my self. it was absolutely insane I was so dizzy I could barley drive, I puked just about every step I took and at one point passed out on the bank of the river. i am so glad I unset everything so I didn't have to do it all over today. I left one set up on my chicken coop that I can check from my couch so I guess technically I didn't miss a day since I had one I could check. Newt
I got sick down in NC on a canoe line. Never thought I'd ever get out of the swamp/flooded timber alive.
rgw
I was thinking the same thing newt, I haven't felt that bad in years, when I passed out on the stream I stopped because I couldn't walk any more, next thing I knew I woke up a hour of so later with puke on my shirt. I literally crawled back to my truck on my hands and knees,
buckfever1974
Well, if you were going to pass, that would have been the way you would have wanted it. Can't believe what you went through. Pardon the ignorance but are you required to check it daily by law?

rgw
is it law, yes but as newt said it isnt the law that makes us get out there even if we are on our death bed. my biggest worry is something bad hapening to me where I cant get out there. thats why I have a book I keep and on the inside cover is a couple of trappers phone numbers and then each page has a address and a sketch of trap locations and landmarks. this way god forbid something happened to me, my ol lady or boy know to call one of those numbers and give them the book to remove my sets. I just bought a handheld gps that I am going to start using next season. gobblergetter
Sketching out locations in a book is a great idea...I do it and also have a friend tag along once every week or so, He dont trap but loves to go with me when ever he can. If something were to happen to me.He would know where to look. Hope ya feel better. Time is short . Get back out there

Sounds like a lifestyle and dedication that superceeds even what some of the hardest deer hunters go through.
