Anyone sell any fur lately? My friend had some at auction and it went unsold. With China and Russia economy in the tank things don't look good.

What did he have unsold? Coon? Nafa had hundreds of thousands of coon left over from last year. Fox and rats should sell buy the price are down

It isn't cost effective for most trappers to keep fur. If it is frozen and not put up, you have to pay to run a freezer. If it is put up it needs to be kept in climate controlled atmosphere. Again, not cost effective. I sent 67 coons to auction last year and all graded very high. I believe I have only sold around 6 at a high of $12. Not good. I usually run around 200 sets, but with the low rate of return along with a nagging shoulder injury I ain't running didley poo. It is more about the injury than the money. The fur market is a microcosm of what is happening in the global economy. The big three buyers are Russia, Greece, and China. Their economies are in the toilet and they ain't buying.

Again if your like me and dont go deer HUNTING .I go deer SHOOT'n. If it aint about a sure thing. I dont waist my time.Same with fish'n I go fish catch'n.Nets are much better than a ploe
