Sideways Pictures

Those who are having trouble with sideways pictures, can you check two things and reply here with the answers.

 

1) What model phone do you have?

2) When you view the image on your phone's gallery, does it appear sideways as well?

 

 

If the answer to #2 is YES, then you can/should rotate the image in your phone's gallery before uploading.

If the answer to #2 is NO, then there may be a setting in your phone to allow for rotation/orientation as you turn your device.

Android wise, might depend on your OS.

Many of my pictures turn sideways from my computer.  They are upright on my computer but they post sideways on here.

Rusty, just to confirm, can you select an image in your Windows Explorer, right click and select Preview.

Let me know if that comes up correct or sideways there.

What is the Windows Explorer?

It's what you use to browse files on your Windows OS computer.

Assuming you have Windows of course

 

Quick shortcut to get there is to hold down the WINDOWS KEY (between Fn and Alt on your keyboard) and hit the letter E (for Explorer).

It will open it up.

Then browse to that picture, right click and select Preview

When I preview the pictures they are upright.  When I post them some turn sideways and some don't.  When I rotate them sideways they stay sideways.

Galaxy s6 no there not sideways on my phone before I post. And I'm not taking pics with the phone sideways either.

Thanks guys, I opened a ticket with the forum software company, I'll see what they say.

 

Are the ones that are sideways for you guys taken in "portrait" (i.e. vertically held phone) or "landscape" (i.e. horizontally held phone)?  Is there any consistency to which ones are sideways or does it vary?
