Jig and Bucktail Making

Here is a pic of the fluid bed I tried to make. Am I doing something wrong in the design? Going to try a bigger pump to see if that works.

Only thing i see missing is an air flow regulator

Is there bottom cap or do you have it sealed a differant way? You need a flow regulator to adjust the paint so it boils slowly like a witches cauldrin.

Just finished the first small run of the year. They will get better.

Just poured.

 

 

Sizes 1 1/2oz through 3oz

 

powder coated with the fluid bed and now baking...

 

All dressed up awaiting some warm weather and water...

 

Also did a small run of my " hip hoppers" basically an ear ball with a swinging hook and teaser. here they are painted and baking.

Nice looking jigs and bucktails guys.. Got our first big pour coming up on march 2nd.. I still cant believe how many Jigs i go through in a year..

What are siwash bucktails?

 

 

 

Its a 4/0 5/0 6/0 siwash hook with a bucktail dressing. Siwash hooks are open ended eyes so they can be added to an ear bag jig or a regular bucktail to make a swinging hook design.

Thanks for the fluid bed help guys! Got about 100 jigs painted yesterday and plan on doing another paint session after chukar hunting this morning. What kinda bobnin are you using to tie the tails on? Would my $2 fly tying bobbin be ok, or should I get one of the fancy $10 ones?
