Pulled Bear BBQ

Ms Grit

Recommended Posts

Started with part of a bear hind quarter and cooked it in my crock pot on low for 24 hours with just enough bbq sauce to cover the bottom. Then I removed the hind quarter, disposed of the bbq sauce and proceeded to "pull" the meat. Returned the pulled bear meat to the crock pot and covered with Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce. Added 1/2 finely chooped onion, 1 can chopped green chilies, salt, pepper and jalapeno lime pepper sauce, mango habanero hot sauce and ultimate insanity hot sauce until it reached a flavor and heat of my liking. Served on a hard roll w/ melted swiss cheese and onion rings . . .

Looks amazing! How'd it taste?

It was delicious IMO, but then again, I really do enjoy all wild game. Lady Bird will be getting a "care package" tomorrow, so she can give you a more objective opinion after she partakes.

Looks great. Where did you get the mango habanero hot sauce??

I honestly don't remember. I always have at least a dozen different kinds in my fridge and instead of shoes, I am a sucker for hot sauces. It might have been Costa Rica, so I'll keep my eyes open for you next time I get down there.
