That's not a moon issue, that sounds more like a location issue.  Go find the oaks that are dropping and you will find the deer.

I have three text cams out with corn in front of them . Had a spike feed for about 20 minutes. Only action the last two days. Poor movement on my other cams the last two days as well.

Yup, location mostly..  Still useing the set ups i only intended to use for the first week.. Had great activity early on but with each passing day i saw fewer and fewer deer.. I expected as much but didnt think i would go completely dry.. Bad back is keeping me from moving my stands right now..  :cupcoffee:

Just seeing this thread now.

Already wished Brian the best in his recovery, but might as well wish it again since wishes are free. lol Really hope you're recovering nicely Brian.

Also, I'd be happy to drag and gut his deer until he's all healed up and good as new. The 21st however, as Rusty already knows, won't work for me.

Now, back to the topic, I might be able to test todays times. Not sure yet. Fingers crossed I can test them and they work! ;)

Had the right wind to slip into a pretty well used funnel last night that leads to cut corn. (can't hunt near the corn, private)

Got in there as early as I could, which was actually kind of late, around 4. So maybe I missed the earlier movement. On the way in, I did notice a new stand and feeder. I wouldn't doubt that has something to do with them coming out later. The stand is low and very visible to deer approaching it from the main bedding area. The hunter has probably been busted numerous times without knowing it.

Anyway, nothing moved until 6:30 when I had deer coming up the "wrong" trail.

No worries, the wind was perfect for this spot all afternoon, so that would allow them to pass me on the wrong side and as they got past me, should allow me a 20 yard quartering away shot through a good sized opening at my four.

Well, as they got closer and closer, (still can't see them, it's way too thick in that direction, light is fading and my eyes aren't quite what they used to be) suddenly the wind switches....not a swirl...it changes completely. They had to be about 20 yards away in this thick stuff. Let the snorting begin! At first I thought they somehow spotted me, then I realized I could feel the breeze on the back of my neck. Quick puff of windicator and yup....blowing right at them.....SON OF A!!!

I don't understand where that wind change came from, but it stayed that way for the next few minutes of them snorting and finally running off.

No sense in blowing more scent towards the bedding area, so I left as soon as they bounded away. Shooting light was just about up anyway. As I came out, it started switching back and forth. Was supposed to be NNE all afternoon/evening.....and it was!!! I did get some ESE a little bit, but that still works real well in this spot. Then it suddenly became the worst possible wind for an afternoon hunt where I was sitting...out of the WNW. It only switched to that for like 10 minutes, but it was long enough to end the hunt.

Wind, when you think it's your friend, it turns on you!

wow   what kind of scent blocker do you use?  I very rarely get busted even when the wind does switch. most of the time if I get busted its usually because of movement.  have you tried going a little higher? I know the evening thermals push scent down ward anyway but it does help.

Yesterday's moon transit was 6:00, so that was right on the money.

I was on the ground in this spot PAlawman.

Didn't want to go to the tree I have setup because I'd be way too close to someones new stand/feeder. Didn't feel right to do that even though no one was there.

As for scent-killer, I use baking soda on all my clothes and in the shower. I've used all kinds of sprays and scent-lok, none of it works the way it's supposed to. If your scent is blowing directly at a whitetail, it's going to smell you. If you're high up, you may get away with it, but never from the ground at nose level. Not in all the years I've hunted anyway.
