Another project finished!!! (Taxidermy)

Finally finishing up my brother Andy's first buck. Since it was a great buck and his first after years of passing young bucks, we decided to do a pedestal mount.

So I figured out a game plan and mounted the buck. After the mount started drying, I started building the pedestal. Never done a pedestal mount before and never built anything quite like this before. Never the less, I think it turned out pretty dang nice.

Once I put the finishing touches on it and fix up any flaws, I'll try to get it in a better setting for nice pictures and add a few. But for now, I just wanted to share the mount as is.

Pretty sweet right?

If I get an elk worth mounting, I'll probably do something similar. Of course I'll have to build an addition just to house the thing. LOL

Here is Andy's first buck (start to finish)

“I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target, but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature’s way of fang and claw and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow.” – Fred Bear

Thanks guys! Still working on it, so no good pictures yet, but soon. So many projects to catch up on!!! The next one I hope to post relatively soon is a pretty sweet lifesize mount. Still altering the form so haven't even started to mount it yet.
