Had the itch....

3Blade

Recommended Posts

Been kicking the idea around for over a year or so and finally gave in. This is a Karnage Apocalypse by Bear, its not a high end crossbow bow but seems pretty well made and pretty fast. Since I am new to this and it is a starter bow i couldn't justify spending the kind of money they want for a higher end crossbow. I need some suggestions on bolts and an illuminated scope that will not break the bank. As for broad heads, I will use Muzzy mx3 since I am a Muzzy guy already-I am afraid to ask about broad head suggestions

That itch is contagious.....Good luck with your new toy !!!

This is one of the many crossbows I had on my list, like you it's my first one and my first year and didn't want to kill the wallet,

I'm getting bolts made by South Shore Archery http://www.southshorearcherysupply.com/index.php Jerry has gotten many positive reviews on other crossbow sites, my friend got bolts from him and really likes them.

Like your crossbow mine didn't come with a illuminated scope, and I wanted one but once more didn't want to break the wallet.  LPJR suggested to me to check out the SA SPORT (model 550), happy I did, very clear and crisp without the illumination on, with it on you have a choice of red or green and different levels of brightness, it's winner in my opinion and I paid $54.00 (buy's club price) on Sportsmansguide.com  https://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/sa-sports-4x32mm-illuminated-reticle-crossbow-scope?a=1165541&_br_psugg_q=sa+sports

Mike Mike Mike I’m so happy you joined the elite family of traditional bow hunters. I’m greatly disappointed about the whole broadhead thing but since your a really cool dude I forgive you. You will love this weapon. All I know is about TenPoint and it all comes set up.

Nice, you'll love it.Go to the kearny range.I see it shoots 370 fps.I have a bowtech striker 380.hit 3" circle @ 60yds Factory arrows suk.I went up to 20" arrows there more stabile and accurate and brass inserts for 15% foc, went from 385gr to 423 which is also better for the limbs.breakin is 100 shots I kept count,Get String Snot and Rail Snot.  I second the Black Eagle executioners and after trying different heads I found the razor tip 125 gr xbow grim reapers best for me,because of the lock ring, the rubber band ones would open in flight because of the speed.Hawke not cheap is the best scope imo I have a excaliber tackzone red an green lights.Good luck!
