Mineral time..

So, Last year I bought bulk and mixed my own minerals..

Not sure if it did much.. I only had a few small bucks and 2 does hitting it.

 

Was gonna try different this year.

 

Looking at :

 

A&w Mineral magnet.. 10lbs:$20 lasts about 1 month

 

Trophy rock.. 12lbs $15 lasts ?

 

Lucky buck... 20lbs $20. Lasts?

 

 

Is 1 better than the other for antler growth?

 

Any others I should consider?

 

As of now I'm leaning towards lucky buck because price per lb... more for your $..

But I wonder if its hald filler?

Try 30-06 mineral lick from whitetail institute. Deer will dig a pond trying to eat it. Good for antler growth too

Just make sure it is not cherry....always used 30-06 and all I see now is cherry....I wouldn't commit, please put your input KB

It is red in color but not sure it is cherry. You mix it in with the dirt. The deer find it quick and keep coming back for more

I use Lucky Buck with great results, deer find it really fast too because it has a very strong smell..one bucket lasts a month, I only run one site so $20 a month dosnt break the bank..

I have had great success with A&W Nature Labs Mineral Magnet. This combined with a Killer Kube in an area with good drainage has worked well the past few years. 

 

I wait until the last day of the season is over, after February 17th this year to start my sites....

Jay I have tried them all, but for FREDON, they like LUCKY BUCK the best...   30-06 went untouched the one time I tried, it, both in my woods and the piece by you I shot my buck this past fall. I have heard others have good success with it, but not for me.   Trophy Rock gets hit hard, but that is more of an attractant than a true supplement.   Lucky Buck is a good blend of attractant and supplement.    A&W natural labs also put out a great product, that was the best when I could get their vanilla blend and it was slightly preferred over Lucky Buck, but I think they changed something because the next season it was not touched as much and Lucky Buck was getting destroyed.... I was going through a full bucket of LB  last season every two weeks...   

 

I would try the LB or A&W.

I usually make my own mixture of Di-calcium phosphate, stock salt and trace mineral salt. $40 or $50 for 200 #. I work it into the soil in early spring and replenish in August.

it's one of the more economical blends out there, $19.99 for 20 lbs... I always get from Cabelas, because I always have points on my CC...

Yeah I'm leaning towards cabelas due to credit card points as well.. I can buy $100 worth and get $5 shipping on orders over $99 often..

Lucky buck seems worth a try- worst case if it doesn't work I give it to jack

Once the bucks find it they will come, but you need to put a little attractant down.  The blend I use is, 50lb Di-calcium Phosphate, two 50lb bags of salt, and a 50lb bag of trace mineral salt.

 

When it is completely mixed with dirt I add about 2 lbs of dried molasses to get them to come in. Do this once a year and they love it.

 

Here is a pic I have on this lap top, the buck was posturing to another buck to stay out of the site
