Antler Restoration

Rusty

Recommended Posts

In an effort to recreate a matching antler for our daughter's buck, and since I really enjoy "arts and crafts", I'm gonna try a few restoration projects to hone my skills.  This skull was left outside and is chewed, pitted, and sun bleached.  It should be a relatively easy restoration to start with since there is no major reconstruction needed.

My very first buck at age 16 was a spike with shotgun...  It really was nothing special, looking back on it except it finally broke the ice...   If I can find it in my dad's basement, I was wondering if you can turn it into about a 130" 8pt, just to make it a little more special?

Nothing spooks deer more than my stank…

I shot a big 10pt once….

Very cool. Have fun. Looks like that buck died just out of velvet, didn't get a chance to rub...I have found bucks with similar sharp points and bumps on the brows just after they died from EHD...

Yeah, it is a really cool rack, that's why I want to restore it.   :D
