Scouting

Went out 2 times in 2 weeks to scout and check the cameras. I am slowly figuring out where does bed and where bucks bed and  how big the bucks are that are using said bed.

 

I had this buck on camera and I knew he was going to be a good one next year until I stumbled on him dead. Such a shame...

 

Then while scouting further found this cool dead fox, yes it must have been an awful way to go but it was still a cool find. Guessing he was chasing a squirrel or mouse and got caught in between the limbs and couldn't get out.

That's too bad. Someone from a neighboring property lost him perhaps?  Fox is a rare find, but I have heard of it before.

That's a very good possibility.

 

Cool find of a fox stuck in a tree not the fox itself. I have a fox den 3' behind my tree, and there are at least 6 other fox I know of know of running around. (All reds)

 

And too many coyotes.

Shame...... The buck had nice mass and good brows. Surprised the tree is not torn up at all by the back legs of the fox. You would think it would take a while to expire up there

When I am done with school in April, will be searching how to and starting. There are a lot of coyote s. In the past month I have 10 pictures of coyote on 4 different cameras combined.

I found a bear cub early spring that had wedged himself in a tree like that fox did. If I did not free him, he would have died the same death. Nature can be cruel!
