Season Begins

It's still early but decided to take a quick walk after work. Saw a few deer and found 2 sheds. The 5pt is last year's antler and the other I think is last year's also, just think it was shaded enough and in a dry area. Still held decent color. Or it was shed very early.

Nice John!

I checked the cameras and bucks that were holding just last week dropped one or both sides since.....

I love looking for sheds as much as hunting no joke......Soon....

Any more I would rather get their sheds over killing them cause they can get bigger the following year. Lou I will try to walk from 2-5 miles a day shed hunting. And will go as many days I can till Turkey season. My best year in Jersey was 54 one season.

20160115_110257_001.jpgI plan on going out this weekend and then, I'm going down to VA to look for the big 13 point's sheds. Here is a photo of sheds that I found many years ago here in NJ. My friend and I had been after this buck for seven years but, never got him. I found them about a mile away from where we had been hunting him. Each side weighs 4 pounds. We figured he would of scored in the 160's.
