The European woodcock are supposed to be a bit larger than our woodcock.  I can see the color differences.  Do they share the same habitat needs?

I've been hunting grouse and woodcock for 32 seasons so far between NJ, PA, NY, and VT over the years.  Nothing like following a good pointing dog through an early successional forest and watching them lock up on a doodle or a grouse.  Woodcock tend to hold well for the dogs, but grouse not so much.  It is very rare to have a truly great grouse dog.  I have been fortunate enough to have owned one, a Brittany named Jed.  But I digress.......  thanks for sharing the European version pix.
