I had a client lined up for painting for the next 4 days, called and texted and left messages, no answer no nada, so Im hunting today and painting our home later in the morning....I love hunting in the snow....oh and if you need any painting done and your close to hunterdon/warren county, I have a few days available, if not im sitting in the real estate office in the tree....

Out in 15. Love snowy hunts but definitely think less movement in general. Early is yr best chance.

I'm snowed in in the catskills.The wind has been so bad I couldn't hunt but it's dying down so I'm gonna hit it this afternoon.I could use some more meat in the freezer so I might take a doe.Theres some good ones in the field below right now.I could open my bathroom window and tag out pretty easy.hahaha!

Ok, this was the lowdown on my sit. Saw a big mature 8, bee lining to me, but coming from behind me, I couldnt swing around to get a shot and he abrubtly turned right, going to fight another buck, one i posted on here before, with one horn, they scrapped a little and chased around some does, then the question became do I shoot the one horned buck? I didnt, i gave him another chance to grow that other side, i had him at 50 yds broadside, but just couldnt do it...cool sit i would say....now im painting our home...and the client called and apologized, I will be going there tomorrow. All is good.

I don't have a stand up, and P/T at noon, though I do have a ground spot I might try that the deer are moving by, so I might try at around 2- till dark. Who knows! Lol

Hunted this morning saw a few does.  Going back out at 2.

I got a nice sized spike 3 point buck this morning still hunting like a beast!!!!! finally!!! Bumped like 4 doe in the process but its all good. 

 

State wma i will take what i can get, i was after these does i keep bumping down below either from spooked ducks yesterday as i crawled to get a closer shot or i had the bow and they were behind thick grass....... well after a lackluster 6 day firearm where i don't think anyone got anything at this wma i am pretty happy. I will probably post up a story and some pics later i have work in a few. Glad i filled this buck tag with the shotgun early, i have a different really good spot on this wma that i like to hunt with bow only as it is pretty close to the road/abandoned house and don't want to blast anything in this set up if i don't have to.

 

Still think the deer are bedded down, at least where i hunt zone 8
