My October buck

I'm home today with some spare time so finally got around to finishing this up.

 

While sitting in my stand a couple weeks ago I am looking at this downed tree with a large section of bark just hanging there and thought that it would make for a neat plaque.

Nice buck and nice mount.  You can credit the emerald ash borer beetle most likely for that piece of bark.

What was technique for the cleanse? Have my first buck head still in freezer debating to attempt. Yours looks great

I let it sit in a large pot of water that I changed every few days for a couple of weeks.( I only did that because I had no time to deal with this). When time allowed I boiled it in water with a little dish soap and scraped it good with an old dull knife. I let it sit in normal peroxide for a day.
