Spare Breech Plug/?

Does anyone carry or have a spare breech plug in case they have issues with the current one in their muzzleloader?  I was thinking I should purchase a spare one just in case

Never carry a spare breech plug while hunting locally. I think its a componet that is least likely to fail if you keep your gun clean. When I hunt places like Alaska or BC, I carry an extra scope and rings in case of a fall on rocks etc. I might consider it on a remote muzzy hunt but weight is always a factor

I think a spare breech plug is not necessary. Especially if you are using BlackHorn. Better things to spend money on for the muzzy if it hits the fan in my opinion.....

IMHO opinion, having a spare plug is necessary, but not needed on your person while on a hunt.  Exception would be a pack-in wilderness hunt.

No. I keep a backup muzzy in the truck. As tcook stated, the breachplug is the least likely part of a muzzy to fail. Especially modern muzzies with sealed breech areas. I would be more concerned with bumping my scope out of zero.
