The firearm is a Savage Arms 10ML-II.

I own and use the Savage MLII. If you follow Savages loads and pay attention to what your doing I truly believe it is a safe gun to hunt with. Problem is guys go to the range with friends they start to bs, next thing you know you have a double load down the barrel. You got to pay attention to detail. I would bet this guy either double loaded or was using a hot charge and a heavier than recommended bullet or both.

In the article the guy claims he used the proper load. No idea how it can be proven one way or another unless Savage puts a few thousand shots through the same model gun with their max recommended load? Even then could have been a defect.

Because it's called Taylor Ham.

there has been numerous reports of them exploding, and test on the metal by two people proved the metal had issues....So it has nothing to do with operator error, and there is a reason Savage discontinued this MZ
