Cops called on me

I hunted a couple hours before work this morning, then went to quick check in lake hopatcong for a cup of coffee before continuing a few blocks to the jobsite. Not there 5 minutes and three explorers with four lake hopatcong cops pull up, looking for me.

Turns out, someone saw my shotgun case in the front seat and followed me to the jobsite and called the cops.

They were pretty cool about it and the older cop said he knew right away that it was probably a deer Hunter.

I told them I've been hunting for over 45 years and never had an issue with carrying a firearm in a vehicle.

Told them 'guess I'm not in Blairstown '.

Even went to school with my shotgun in the rack above the truck seat.

Everyone use to know when it was 'deer season'.

Un f'n real.

Unfortunately with everything going on in this country some people just live on edge and even though they live in this neck of the woods where there is hunters alot of these people have no idea when hunting season is open or that the same woods alot of them walk are hunted. I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often especially during predictor hunting when you have guys in full camo walking into the woods with ARs or guys at dark walking into the woods with shotguns. To those of is who hunt we know exactly what's going on but to the non hunting public a guy with a gun makes them $h!t their pants...just my opinion and no I'm not sticking up for the person that called on you I just know people and even have family members that are like that.
