Lost my best friend today

She was my very first dog, she was with us for 11 years and unfortunately she took a very quick turn for the worse yesterday afternoon and by this morning she was even worse so I knew it was time and had to do what's best for her.. Called my wife to come home from work , gave her one last big meal of turkey and ham left over from Thanksgiving and took her as soon as my wife came home..she was gone at 3:25 , painlessly and quick... I haven't cried like this since I was prob 5...this is so hard, she was my everything...I was just done crying till I got home and moved her bed and got a smell of her, trying to keep it together the best I can..she will be missed badly!

I'm so sorry for your loss . It's never easy but knowing she's in a better place will begin to help eventually . It will take some time . Just lost mine back in October and it's still tough . Hang in there .

what a cute dog - man it sure is tough though...  My condolences.   We do get awfully attached to them for sure.

Sorry for your loss. I had lost my dad in November and had two dogs put to sleep a couple months later. That was 34 years ago and have never owned another dog since. The feeling of losing three best friends in such a short time was too much that I never wanted to relive it again. Good luck and best wishes

Despite the pain we relish the love and companionship they give us.  Just look at those priceless pics with your kid.  Can't put a price on that.

Sorry for your loss.  When I lost both of mine I was a pathetic puddle.  It was the hardest thing of my life, I still tear up thinking about them.  No need to stay strong for the family, them it all out, she was your best friend and your family.  Sucks.  Really sorry for your loss.
