Our Trip to Kansas B&C Hunts

Many of the guys on the trip have been here more than a few times. This was my (Lou) first time.

The guys were great and the lodging was nice. Food for dinner was home made and delicious. If you hunted all day they did make sandwiches for you along with cookies, chips, apple, etc. Breakfast we were on our own.

All of us had to have harnesses - mandatory or you did not hunt.

Some stands were single ladder stands and some were double ladder stands. The single stands were tight and could have been updated or newer. The double stands were the Ameristep doubles without the flip up seat. I would have liked to have had the larger platform and flip up seat option to stand.

Guides took people in pick ups on Sunday afternoon to your stand to hunt. No one walks in blind the morning of. If you wanted to sit all day you could sit or if you wanted to come out you could come out.

Congratulations to pro staffer Jason Gamba on this nice Southeastern Kansas coyote… Called in to 30 yards, from almost 300 yards, with his hand and shot with his Elite Option 7 and Rage Trypan. Great shooting Jay.

I had a giant come in 3 minutes after I got in my stand on Sunday afternoon. I was caught off guard and the buck was nose down and ran through like lightening. Then a short while after that I had a funky big 6 or 8 come in and I shanked my shot complete miss. I saw bucks every day and two more shooters but could not get a shot. We were hunted Sunday second half of the day through Wednesday night. We all had to get back to work. Weather was a little warmer than we would like but it only rained at night.

All in all, we had a great time. These guys are a great bunch. While in previous years they definitely tagged more bucks, this was a fun time with plenty of stories.
