A Couple Small Gauge Ducks

A gentleman at the Cherry Ridge range gave me two boxes of 28ga Bismuth shot shells after his safe clean-out. I put a couple of these very expensive shells into paper to see how they pattern. Nice.

I took an old 28ga into the woods this morning and got a couple. Cold out there, but a lot easier in the thick woods hole than the open bay waters. lol

That little 28 gauge sure is a neat shotgun.

Great job on the wood ducks.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Joshua Chapter 1:9
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

I've always wanted to shoot rails with my SxS 28.  I hear the shells cost a mint, but I know and love that gauge like no other.  My go-to grouse and woodcock gun is a sweet SxS 28.

I looked at Cabelas .... these 28ga Bismuth loads are "on sale" at $26.39 for a box of only 10 shells. wow. That's why I only patterned two shells, at two different distances. lol.

So, getting these 3 ducks on Saturday with it was a lot of fun, but I'll only be using it at close-up ducks at that price. lol

I haven't shot that old 28ga pump in years .... but sure was wonderful hunting with it. I didn't realize that I would like it so much. A SxS in 28 must be one sweet gun.
