Ouch...

This one hit me right in the chest, long story short, I came back from Maryland after not seeing any sign and my area getting hit hard with ehd, decided I was going to hunt this stand in zone 26 hard this week since it's been on fire this year. I sat yesterday morning, saw a spike and a decent rack twice, heard some chasing then it went quiet and the wind picked up. Decided to climb down early to get some things done at the house so I can hunt hard the rest of the week, well I climbed down at around 9:15, I know still pretty early... hung my text camera up, got to the truck and my camera sent me this.... hands down would have been my biggest jersey buck walks by 15 yards away from my stand. If I stayed 20 minutes longer I would have been in the tree. You can see my ladder stand over the does head in the pine tree. Let's just say that hurt... you can bet I won't be climbing down early the rest of this week

Get in the stand.

Reminds me of place near my old club.

During the rut I would make sure I was in my stand during the afternoon.

Good luck

Sat here yesterday till 11, saw 2 yearlings, back here this morning and had a buck grunting and making scrapes in the dark but couldn't see him 40 yards away, heard some chasing on my other side then a yearling just walked through. I have a good feeling about today if this wind would stop swirling
