"Bullet Proof" Buck Down 11/4

After two years and few missed opportunities, I finally got one of my target bucks on the ground. It's been four years since I harvested a buck with a bow on my property, and 2014 with the T/C. It wasn't for a lack of trying though. Last year, he was a heavy seven point at 3.5 years old but only gave me one opportunity which obviously didn't end well. This year, I acquired the farm behind my long-time property in Wantage, which had at least three good bucks and had my expectations high. Unfortunately, I missed a nice wide eight on the 14th...badly mis-judging the yardage. On the 28th, I had this buck dead to rights......only leaving him running out of sight with a haircut. I tried to give my stand to my brother on Saturday but he refused knowing I was determined to get this buck. At 0720, I had my chance, only to almost blow it...again! There he stood, dogging a doe, at twenty yards.....stopped....broadside. The Thunderhead tipped bolt was on its way and in an instant he was down. After what seemed like eternity, he was back up.....albeit with two broken legs....a perfect heart shot....or was it? Another 50 yards and he was down again. I quickly made the decision that he may not be mortally wounded, so I cocked another bolt and went after him. Within 100 yards I had caught up and got another Thunderhead in his lungs. Another 40 yards into a thicket and silence.....finally! He's a nice 8 point, 4.5 years old, and dressed at #151. Thanks for reading.
