Cat and Mouse game is ongoing...

I sat yesterday afternoon just inside the woodline at one of my pieces without seeing a tail...Changed it up sat a few hundred yards away tonight and I get these pics from the homeowner where I sat yesterday...The buck entered the woods quite a few times apparently passing my empty stand each time...

 

Too funny, can't make this stuff up. One day I will be in the right tree...

Yesterday I saw a shooter, he came up the hill out of thick laurels about 150 yards in front of me. If I was in my stand where he came from I would of had shot. Frustrating yes, but damn it we do love it

That's the best part of the hunt! If they were that easy to pattern it would get old quick.

Outsmarting him is half the battle- getting him to step in the open within bow range and stand still long enough to place a deadly shot is the other half

They will be moving this week with the colder weather moving in thank God. Especially Wed-Sat when the lows will be in the 20's.  So plan on lots of movement.

Hunt the stand a few days...if he shows, put a good shot on him. Problem this time of year, bucks become unreliable. Lot of nerve they have...Best of luck.
