Creek Keepers Bait & Tackle Store will be moving

Recommended Posts

Needing to up date my State Hunting & Fishing License permits, I went to the local fishing store close to my work.

So, earlier today I stopped by and spoke with the owner of “Creek Keepers” located at 1130 South Black Horse Pike,  Blackwood 08012 (Phone: 856-227-1923).

I was told the store in Blackwood will be moving to another location a short distance away.

1924 Cooper St, Deptford Township, NJ 08096

This Building location, was the old Ed’s Gun Shop.

The move will be done after this season, and re-open in the new location come March 2018.

The Creek Keepers owner stated they will give the new location (the old Ed's Gun Shop) a try for one year to see if things pick up.

If not, then the doors will be closed permanently.

This is a neat little place, the staff is very friendly and helpful.

I thought it would be nice if some of you guys around here could support this little store.

I do not want to see another sports shop fold and disappear in this State.

Ephesians Chapter 6:12

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Joshua Chapter 1:9
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

It’s hard to support a store that seems to be randomly open. They have a nice little place but I’m not the only one who has gone by then left mad saying why aren’t they open. After that happens a few times you just give up.

I don’t think the new location will do any better than where they are now. They are directly across from the new outlets and the rt 42 on/off ramps. They are also only about 300 yards from Grenloch Lake.

Yeah, I don't think moving to Ed's old shop will help. It's on the BHP now - they are already on a major road. And now with the outlets near there now, they have more traffic.

Shame - we don't have many shops like that around. One thing I don't understand is why aren't these shops open early hours? If I'm looking for live bait, I'm going first thing in the morning on the way to the water. That could sometimes be that I need to get to the store at 5 or 6am. They all seem to open at 8am or 9am. By then I've already been fishing for a couple hours. If they opened earlier, I would be buying bait and most likely more tackle while I'm there.

I did like their bait vending machine - I had to use that once or twice in an emergency :)

They are very friendly people I had a reel repaired there last year.

They sell a lot of live bait which I don't use.

And they seem to focus on striper guys. Not much as far as rods and reels or tackle and their hours are horrible.

They need to get new updated inventory and more freshwater

Gear, soft plastics and finesse

Better selection on rods and reels as well

Focus on the serious large and smallmouth bass fishing world that's going on without them.

I think they could make it if they rethought their clientele.

Maybe even through some hunting stuff in there.
