Woke up late, spooked a doe walking in (she blew me out to High heaven). Worst part is, I just dropped my coffee mug.

 

Though, it sure is beautiful out today. Glad I skipped work!

Lol, the days that start off as a mess usually end with a dead deer so stay positive and enjoy the rest of your sit and I'll try to enjoy my day at work in zone 3 haha

one of my favorite days' to be in the woods, still plenty of cover, the colors of fall, the smell in the air, and the bucks are getting super frisky!    Good luck. 

 

I have seen some of my best buck fights on this date, and it's also around the time I see mature, nocturnal-only bucks show themselves in the daylight. 

 

Good luck - gotta sit it out which is another reason I favor "2 flexible buck tags per calendar year - use them as you wish, any season, any weapon".  

 

Why should it matter to the state if I am back in the woods in October after tagging an early buck, if it's "all about management"?    Well we all know, management is perhaps an underlying goal, but the main goal is to make $$$, at least that is how the tag system is designed.
