Jet sled repair

Somehow I got a small hole at the back of my jet sled on one runner and the side of the runner.  The hole is currently just 2 slits about 1 inch long and 1/4 inch wide.  The plastic between the 2 small holes is weak.  Any ideas on how to repair this?  I was think about plastic weld (JB weld).

Drill a hole in each end of the slit and fill with epoxy

The white PVC outdoor molding you use around doors and windows, Facia etc.  Get a couple of pieces of 1x2 and screw them onto the runners of the sled. You can heat the stuff to make it bend to form around the front ramp end. The stuff wears great it costs about 10 bucks for a 12 foot piece. I used large head lath screws 3/4" long.
