according to my interpretation, this is really only a benefit to those DMZ's that are not already open for EAB, because in EAB zones, every day before regular fall opener is like "youth day".  This also clearly spells out that any youth in EAB zones can shoot antlered first if they want.

Exactly Jack! I've been waiting for a certain zone that isn't open to take my son. He's been hunting 28 which has been open EAB.

I believe this is a bonus deer for youths too. It does not count towards their fall bow bag limits.

But on youth day it's a "free deer" they don't have to use up a regular tag .
