SCFGPA Jr. Rifle Team.

Hey all, the Somerset County Fish&Game Protective Assoc. (SCFGPA), which is an outdoorsman/gun club located in Bridgewater NJ, is actively searching for new members for the Jr. rifle team. Many of the former team members have gone off to college, so it's somewhat of a rebuilding time for the team.

 

This is Olympic style small bore shooting. The club sponsors the Jr. Rifle team and provides weekly training, the facility, some ammo, and funding for their trip to Camp Perry each year to compete. The age range is 10-18 year olds, and they compete at local and national matches. The instructors are very competent and passionate about the sport, and the team typically places very well on the national level, with quite a few national titles achieved. Several of the prior team members have been recruited, with scholarships, to universities around the country, as well as military academies (West Point) as cadets and/or instructors.

 

There is a minimal membership fee for the "Jrs." ($10), but a parent or guardian must become a member of the club (approx. $200 yearly) in order for a Jr. to become a team member.

 

If anyone has a youngster that is interested, please pm me and I will be happy to speak to you and provide more info regarding the details of membership for the parent, and the expectations for potential team members.
