Early Season Goose report

Went out yesterday and no luck. A flock came in at dark, which was past legal shooting. We saw a small group of Wood Ducks. Thank goodness for bug spray. The mosquitos were out in force! Love watching the bats chasing bugs as darkness approaches.

No geese Saturday morning, but a ton of woodies and a nice amount of mallards in my piney spot. What a super day hiking with the pups!!!

Remember September goose season shooting time goes til a half hour after sunset. It's different than the regular season. depending on the cloud cover sometimes it can pretty much be dark and your still legal to shoot. I usually set an alarm on my phone for that reason so I don't have to keep checking the time.

Went out this morning for first hunt of season. Geese finally started feeding in one of my fields. Well, the whole group came in at once and short stopped by about 100 yards. Early season.....ugh. nice to be out again and see birds coming in though.
