Eab buck?

Recommended Posts

So under 3 inches if antler counts as antleess... i imagine that designed for accidental shots that you thought was a doe.. although people knowingly shoot BB knowing so..so that's not really contributing to the cause bit it still counts..

What about a 1.5 year old spike that scores 2"?

Target him for my eab to his lack of growth?

He is technically "antlerless" I mean what can he possibly growing at 2.5?Lol

Why not just shoot a doe?

I got more bucks than does on cam here. Ratio is way off...and I hunt the 50 acres with 3 other guys who will shoot does here..

This buck probably won't amount to anything if he couldn't even sprout a 1" spike his 1st year and we didn't even have that bad of a winter-and we had a plentiful spring and summer..

Just curious what others would do if this guy comes in with a doe side by side.. which would ya take?

QDMA has even said that just because he's a small spike now, he can still be a good buck in a year or two, can't judge genetics that young, anyway, he may be at the bottom of the pecking order and may not got what he needed to sprout bigger spikes, or some other variables not known, but up to you, if your skewed in favor of bucks, I'd say go ahead and tag it, under 3" is concidered antlerless.

Hunt with a Vizsla, cause life's to short to hunt with an ugly dog! :D RIP Tilly monster. (Attila) 2004-2017.

Most likely his mother was a fawn last year and was bred late in the winter, resulting in him being born very late last summer.  He would have gone through the winter at a very small body size, so all of his energy this summer went to body growth and there was nothing left for antler growth.
