Mon 8/28/2017 Raritan Bay Trip

Well, I now have a new Fishing Buddy my other 10 yo Grandson who did not have any interest like his 11 yo Brother.

Started at Belford Public Dock for Snappers High tide NE wind heavy. One other Fisherman 1 snapper 8 Crabs med. but had a 5 gal. Bucket full of Killeys. this guy is a regular on the Bayshore practically lives in his Van with Old Bait and a buck of fishing gear what a character but a super Nice guy.

We left there for The Spy House Pier wind Howling from the NE still very uncomfortable almost did not walk out But that new fishing Buddy wanted to go. I should say NO about 20 people fishing still High Tide no body was Catching anything I saw people using 10" plugs- Bunker Heads - Snapper Poppers. and some unidentifiable stuff some one sold them. we lasted 1/2 hour in that wind. I know he will make a Good Fisherman as he kept saying just one more cast.

Forgot to add he never made any Casts before this day I showed him how and by his 4th cast he went on his own casting the Popper some 50-75 ft. also that's when I found out I only had some 75ft of line on the reel he made a cast that spooled it glad there was a good knot to the spool.

I now have to buy him his Own Outfit he Requested

Now that the weather has changed where I can Breather better along with a New Inhaler we will be hitting the water more. Hope to put him into some Bigger Blues and Stripers out Front.

Son has a Freind with a Head Boat that we go Free so as soon as The Stripers start in The Bay this fall it's game on.
