One big chore done

Where my kicker bracket is located on the stern port side of my 16ft Alumacraft I found this nasty crack. Must have hit a large bump while trailering?

 

Used ft long threaded rods and pieces of aluminum. Aluminum brazed on then covered all with fiberglass and bondo kit. Seems strong, will try before duck season. Pics not in order but you get the idea.

Not bad for an amateur 'eh? Of course the test drive will really tell. As long as it works I'm happy. The aluminum brazing really did not hold well. I think the strength is in the bolts I used.
