Fished with a really good captain today had a great time. You may recognize him he put two huge fluke on the boat before I could even get settled in and we had a great day. I threw back a 23 incher near end of the trip because we were limited out and the captain was true to this character as was I. I got some really nice seabass too can't wait to eat them. I got much better at bucktailing and even caught some on cut shad which was the big seabass preference

Now as someone that has vast experience in the finer art of ballbusting and self-deprecation...

Some moments from today..

"You called for the net on a 16" fluke???"   Hammer to JH.....   (in my defense, that was one feisty fluke)

There were similar snide remarks over a  few record-book IGFA class sundials I caught...  Those little 12" flatties are amazing... I think there was some jealousy there if you ask me.

"OOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!  HOLY #####!!!!!"   el Capitan, after an overly aggressive large skate that was  attached to his bucktail decided to lunge, crush and scrape his finger much like the mussels he was probably feeding on....   Yeah there was blood and a Band-Aid followed... I won't swear to it, but I think I saw some tears but the moderate breeze quickly dried them     (Two things I may never see in my life - a skate act like a shark, and the Hammer cry).

It was a great day. We tossed back a lot of 17.5" fluke and many keepers as well, and endured a 2 hour lull and toughed it out until the tide switched.

Jack seems the day is running together for you a bit. Rest assured IF that skate had drawn a tear he would have swam back lipless instead of just holding a piece of my finger in his teeth.

I believe the tears where the three grown men tearing up as they tried to take the fish out of the cold water slurry having the chilled water  burn their hands.

Those Engel coolers def do as they advertise, and keep stuff cold.

The other chance you saw of a tear is when you guys tried to cut Eddies finger with a knife that was a little too sharp LOL
.

all in all a good day. wirth everyone fishing hard.

If anything was to be learned yesterday it was how guys show boating high sticking rods telling everyone on board how they GOT THIS ONE , and see their face as they popped off  being priceless.

as well as sometimes there are plenty of fluke on a spot that just want conditions perfect to chew.

as we picked at them, catching tough bites, but when they went on the feed they dam near where ripping the rods out of guys hands.
