Any Advice On What To Use For Fluke?

My son, friend and I are going down to Virginia this coming weekend. We are planning to fish for fluke and speckled trout in the Chesapeake Bay. We plan on fishing in a channel nearby my mom's house. We've been fishing a lot over the years and only caught a handful of fluke. We mostly catch croakers. We use bottom rigs with squid. What else do you guys recommend that we use? I'm mostly a freshwater fisherman. Thanks.

Take a can of peas with you. When you get to the spot you want to fish, sprinkle the peas all around the water close to the boat. When the fluke come up to take a pea, hit them in the head with an oar, and throw them in the boat:) .......... I like light white bucktails and white gulp swimming mullets 4 inch. Good luck!

the fluke are smaller there - 1-2 ounce bucktails with appropriate size gulp (mullet grub eel ) and a dropper a dropper loop 12-16" above it with a jig head and another gulp.    Have fun!

depending on current flow what ever size bucktail you need to stay as vertical to the bottom, between 1 OZ and 4 OZ.

5 " swimming mullet on that

and on a teaser above that use a 5"  gulp shrimp, in white , glow or new pennny.

on bucktail you cant go wrong with  glow or white.
