He's home!

My extended bow buck is home.  I was in Oregon for work all of the early and regular bow season last year so needless to say I was itching to get in the tree once I got back home on November 10th.  Spent the first few days checking cams that were left out while I was gone.  On November 14th I got out in the evening for the first time only to check my cam and find out this guy showed up at my stand at 0900 that morning.  Needless to say I was kicking myself for not going out in the morning, but had a pretty good idea where he was bedded and knew he was probably close.  So I settle in my stand lazed a few trees and like any excited pissed off hunter would do, I started texting the pic of this mornings buck to a couple friends letting them know what a jackass I was for not hunting this morning.  They all agreed without argument.  Then as I was texting the picture to my buddy Jack, no sooner did I hit the send button I hear leaves crunching.  Oh s!@# buck, it's him!  Without thinking I ditched the phone, grabbed my bow, drew and waited a few seconds for him to hit my known thirty yard tree.  He gets a few steps away from and a little behind the tree and I give em' a bleat.  He slammed on the brakes and I settled my thirty yard pin forward his ribs and let it fly.  It happened so quick I didn't even have time to screw it up... LOL.  It felt good, but his reaction was concerning.  I called Jack and told him I just shot the buck in the picture.  A few laughs a, "What ever" and few comments that I won't repeat is what I got in return.  After a little convincing he was on his way.  I climbed down to check the arrow and found good blood at the point of impact, but no arrow.  Hmm, okay no reason to panic.  Jack got there and sixty yards later we were celebrating.

Lesson of the day... STOP PLAYING WITH THE DAMB PHONE!
