My forester keeps raising his prices. His yearly fee for filling out the wd1 went from $50.00 to $175. All he really does is sign it. His fee for a plan used to be free and now shot up to $1400.00

What a racket. I know I'm saving $$ on what my taxes would be without this state program but these state certified foresters will milk this for all it's worth.

The guy went to college and is certified by the state. Add that he lives in NJ and pays taxes. I understand the costs.

What does a Forester do ?

One thousand four hundred dollars for a so called woodlot management plan that the forester probably has his wife write and print out in her spare time. These guys (foresters) are really working the system.

Why do you need them do they get you a tax break or do they make your land more huntable never heard of a forester I dont own hunting property would like to some day

Well actually it cost 3 growlers of beer, so I guess that's technically not free.

BYOCS - bring your own chainsaw, love it. Might eventually take you up on that.

 

I would still need the plan drawn up and submitted to the state by an approved forester for the tax rebate. Any recommendations off the state list would be greatly appreciated.
