:hmmmer:  Hope this doesn't go off the tracks but should be interesting,

With all the back and forth on this The question is.

Do you need it  -- Have it - of don't give a darn

On my side, I don't need it.  or even understand it with all the BS connected,

One point I get is Millions are on it that do not qualify and they are the ones that will loose it.  Illegals mostly

Yes, call it what you want it goes by many names.

That's not the problem.

You said, "Health care managed care", which is what almost everyone in America has in one form or another, and has nothing to do specifically with Obamacare.

Obamacare is socialized Medicine. Free market capitalism is the only thing that can save our Healthcare system and country. Having health insurance is one thing getting treatment from a qualified doctor is another. Go to Cuba or Communist China if you want Obama’s plan.

The "Republican" RINO healthcare plan kicking around Washington DC right now is "Obamacare light".     This country is screwed.

It stinks.  I'm on it.  Better than nothing, but did I mention it stinks.  It was a nightmare getting signed up.  It's a nightmare every year refiling, and then getting through to the insurer.  I had great insurance coverage since I started working after HS.  Retired, and now the insurance rates for this piss poor coverage are higher than I ever paid for insurance that covered everything.  Only way it has helped so far is to lower the amount I have to pay to the doc.  I pay the allowable amount determined by the insurance company, not the amount the doc charges, as long as the doc is in the network.  The insurance pays nothing until after the $3000 deductible, then it's a big copay, and depending on the plan, a coinsurance of 40%. After paying $7400 per person out of pocket, then insurance pays the rest, but that has to be 7400 out of pocket covered under the plan.  No dental, no prescriptions, no eyecare, no out of network doctors, or other non covered costs apply to that.

It's going to be another nightmare(hours on hold) trying to get reestablished when changes are made.

It could slow down some of the drain on SS for now.  It doesn't make sense for me to take it early, now that I'm 62.  It would all go back to the gov to pay back the subsidy, and taxes.  I'll let it grow, and take it when I get on medicare.  Doesn't make sense to take out any of my other investments when it's all considered income that will just lower my subsidy.  I'm sure there are other retirees that are in the same boat.

Do I feel bad for having to be on it?  Not really.  For thirty years I paid double what I had to into our welfare fund to cover others who didn't put in enough.  I see how our gov gives trillions of our tax dollars to help other countries(supposedly their civilians) or to the Paris agreement, UN.  I'd rather see our taxes spent here to help our citizens who payed them.  The system does need to be fixed, though, and it should be done in a way to help everyone.
