Form means everything

So gobblengrunt came by a few weeks ago to help me find out which arrows I should be shooting off my recurve..

I ordered the stuff and just went out and threw a few arrows..

 

I noticed I have a mish mosh of techniques to draw the bow, and I finally found the way that shot tight groups.

Problem is: I can't tell my brain to do it the same every time lol

 

In the past, I realised much of my problem when hunting with s recurve is drawing the bow the same way I do when target shooting. It's difficult to get the bow back nice and smooth in a continuous motion like I do when practicing. Plus, for those of you who lost the feeling of buck fever due to too many kulls under their belt-go to a recurve... it's like your 10 years old again when a doe steps within 20 yards lol.

 

Anyways.. My groups went from this, to this, within 2 dozen shots. I shot different each half dozen until I got a good group. Now I just need to remember which way worked each time I shoot lol.

 

I did 4 straight on, and then didn't wanna robinhood, so I moved to a quartering away position and did the next 2.

Worst thing you can do is shoot at opposing angles like that .

Arrows crush easy when hit from a side angle .

They take a beating from behind without damage .
