Fishing in Japan is very popular.The fish are so pressured that most of the latest advances in fishing gear and techniques come from Japan.

Are you kidding bass fishing is huge in Japan, and a good many of the best lures and baits come from there these days, they even tied the perry record if I remember right, he'll when I was in Florida for a year going to MMI I fish with a guy who came all the way from Japan to fish the Kissimmee chain!! I even help him catch his first American largemouth, he kept bowing to me! Lol

California, Texas, Mexico, and pretty much the entire south has some huge bass swimming around, hell, lack Champlian is a great bass fishery! And to win on that lake you need better than 20bls in 5 fish!!

 

I remember a B.A.S.S. Elite on Champlain a while back, Greg Hackney has somthing like 26 pounds or so by mid day, he quit fishing by 1 pm and had a pizza delivered to the friggin ramp!! He won that two day, by a wide margin!! Lol

I had an honest to goodness 16 pounder on my line once,..........so what if it was in the Orlando bass pro fish tank while I was demoing soft plastics!! Lol

No rash, was tucked up under a fake log! Was domoing a soft water entry, and explains how that would be a spot to look for bass, I didn't know it was there but felt the take, always good when the fish plays along, give you crediblity! Lol it was always on my bucket list to do that, and I got the chance in '08 during a bass pro spring outdoors weekend, the bass club I was with had a table set up, one of the demonstrators had to back out and they where scrambling to replace him they asks my club if anyone wanted to demo on the tank, and I jumped at the chance! Was a blast! They introduced me as a " local bass pro" lol had me do 20 minutes on a verity of soft plastics.

Yeah man that was one helluva tournament for TIM HORTON, not the Hack attack. Same point though, Champ is an incredible fishery.

The story about the fish that tied the record is incredible how that angler fishes for big bass over in Japan! A lot of techniques come from there. For some reason Cali anglers seem to hear about them first and then the techniques spread out to the east. Drop shot, neko rig are just a couple examples

That's cool you were able to demonstrate the different plastics and hook into a hog nice!.

Ha! No hooks allowed, he just grabbed a hookless bait and held it a second. All baits where rigged on small springs with the appropriate weights for the technique.
