Never saw it before, but found some the other day while turkey hunting.  Had to google it to find out what it was.  Neat looking stuff till I poked it with a stick.  Some articles I read said it's rare and others said it's not so rare.  Who knows?

I believe the rarity depends on taste. Ever see the kids game Bean Boozled??   Honestly I never saw anything like that, I do see some funky color fungi sometimes, but that looks kinda neat!

Ha!  I played Bean Boozled with my niece and she got the skunk spray flavor!  She almost threw up.  I was laughing my ass off.  Then I got rotten cheese.... I wasn't laughing anymore

I've only ever seen that a time or two in the woods, it's funky looking.

While we're identifying funky fungus, anyone have any idea what this is?  It's growing along the stream in Tillman's Ravine, Stokes.
