Well, it's come to it, I'm having neck surgery to fuse the C-6&7, will hear from the doctors office in a few days or so to set a date, time laid up will be 3-4 months, light duty 4-6 back to full duty, only issue I have is, there is nothing light duty about what I do! Lol

All because some tool was to busy to watch the frigging road, and slammed into me!

Hunt with a Vizsla, cause life's to short to hunt with an ugly dog! :D RIP Tilly monster. (Attila) 2004-2017.

good luck with your recovery........In my opinion you have no choice but to have a lawsuit either on the driver that caused the accident or the insurance company, get what you deserve

Nope, epidural failed after only a week and a half, the damage needs to be repaired, his words were "you have a huge herniation at the c6 c7, nothing left to do but go in and fix it" he also said I'll be as good as new afterwords, so there's that, but looks like, my hunting seasons are toast, won't be fully healed up till December.

Consider an artificial disc? I had some disc issues that cleared up. Once you fuse, point of no return. Please see someone at Columbia or the hospital for special surgery.

I agree, at least get a second opinion.

Get a second opinion like John B and Nomad said.

I knew a guy that was very active, in the Marine Corps, hunting, fishing, constantly outdoors, etc. Had surgery like that and was never the same. Constant pain, can't move, etc. Fell into depression and ruined his life.

Look at other options before you decide, too many Dr's just don't give two shiites. It's not their neck.

“I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target, but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature’s way of fang and claw and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow.” – Fred Bear

The trouble with fusion is with the adjacent segments. The fused segment puts stress in the discs above and below, causing problems down the road. The artificial disc is called mobli c is approved for 2 levels, and you only have 1. When I had my cervical disc issues last year, that cleared up, I did countless hours of research. Best wishes.

Unless I was told that I was risking being paralyzed by two different doctors I would put it off until the pain was so great that I could not stand it anymore.  Have had too many injuries get better with a lot of time and rest.  But, that is just me, Nomad... Best of luck with what ever you decide!!
