How Many Times Do You Check Your Trail Cameras?

I don't get to put mine out until early August since I am not allowed to access the property until then (management hunt rules). With that said, I will check them at least 2 to 3 times before the season, then about once a week when I hunt.

Will check them mid summer then just before the rut. I have them out just to see what bucks are around and on property. Once I start hunting, the wind tells me where to hunt. Don't have time to mess with Cameras while hunting. It's always nice to know if a big boy is roaming though.

I'm trying something new this year...no cameras.  We'll see how it goes.......

I never used to use them. I just throw them up to see but it does not and will never dictate how I hunt a specific spot. You hard core camera guys get some awesome pics and love seeing them. I will show mine come mid summer

I check mine every 2 days. I always check them at the time of day and path I would take as if I was hunting. I let the deer pattern me and get used to my presence. When a mature buck is on its feet in daylight following a cam check, you know he is comfortable moving about and is ready to be hunted. If a particular buck is only showing his presence on days you are not there, you're either in the wrong spot or bumping him from his comfort zone.

I use cellular cams quite a bit so I dont need to touch them but a few times a year for battery changes. Regular cams I check once or twice a month in the off season and then during season once a week I check them at night.

Too many trips into the woods IMO.

Also if they pattern you don't you think the mature deer will avoid the area, at least during the time you are always there?

Anyway I hope it works for you

I stopped using cameras after several occurrences led me to conclude that cameras scare deer.  It could just be the type of camera that I used, I know a bunch of you get repeated pictures of mature bucks.

Once a month during the off season(sometimes longer) and whenever I hunt a stand or am near a cam during the season. Less is better IMO. I check my cams at night whenever possible which usually ends up in may favor after the kid is asleep. With that being said, Im going to run fewer cameras this season and enjoy my time more. Less work or work smarter(cell cams would be nice) not harder.
